
Summer Interns are typically upper-level high school students who have a strong background in math and science and a desire to impact kids. They must combine a love for science and technology with patience, energy, and a positive attitude. They should also be a team player. Experience leading groups of kids entering 4th-8th grade is extremely helpful. Previous camp experience is a plus. They should be able to commit to 4 – 9 weeks of the summer.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Instructor Team with set up, instruction, and clean up in labs
- Guide and motivate kids through hands-on science and technology projects
- Participate in camper check-in/check-out with high level of enthusiasm
- Assist Tech Director and Assistant Director with administrative duties
- Supervise lunch and help lead activities for campers staying for the full day
- Lead campers to classes and through the museum during class breaks
- Provide support to Director Team, Instructor Teams, and within the Summer Intern team
Additional Responsibilities
- Weekly staff meetings, to occur from 4:30pm to 5:30pm after camp on Thursdays
- Participate in two days of training before camp starts
- Help pack up camp at the end of the summer
- Complete mid-camp and end-of-summer evaluations
Work Hours (camp is in session 9am - 4pm)
- Monday: 8 am - 5 pm
- Tuesday: 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
- Wednesday: 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
- Thursday: 8:30 am - 5:30 pm
- Friday: 8:30 am - 5 pm
Compensation & Benefits
