If you are interested in being a camp counselor, this is an opportunity you don't want to miss! Summer Interns are typically high school students who are excited about working with kids. You must also be patient, and have a fun and energetic attitude. Experience leading groups of kids between the ages of 5 and 11 is helpful, but not required – if you have a positive attitude and lots of energy, we can teach you the rest. Previous camp experience is a plus! As a Summer Intern, you will be intimately involved in supporting the overall program and helping the Camp Director and staff where needed.
Our Summer Interns play three distinct roles:
Some Summer Interns are responsible for helping in all aspects of camp, from office work to set-up of games and camp clean-up. They also assist kids in art, science and outdoor activities as needed.
Summer Interns who have prior experience working with kids may partner with a Team Leader and rotate with a single group of campers for the whole week.
In certain camps, we assign a Summer Intern (who usually has had experience with 4-6 year-olds) to work for the duration of the summer as a part of our Kindergarten team.
